Terms & Conditions

Wombourne Blinds

Effective Date: 01.01.2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to quotations, orders, supply and installation services provided by Wombourne Blinds. By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Quotations & Orders

All quotations are based on the information, measurements and requirements available at the time of quotation.

Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

An order is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and we have accepted the order.

As many of our products are manufactured specifically for individual customers, customers should carefully check all product details, colours, styles, specifications and other requirements before confirming an order.

Any changes requested after an order has been placed may result in additional charges and/or changes to the estimated lead time.

2. Made-to-Measure Products

Most blinds, shutters, awnings and other products supplied by Wombourne Blinds are made-to-measure and manufactured specifically to the customer's requirements.

Where products are made to the customer's specifications or are clearly personalised, the statutory right to cancel that may apply to certain distance or off-premises contracts does not normally apply to those goods.

This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

3. Deposits & Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following deposits are required when placing an order:

Blinds – 50% deposit
Estimated lead time: approximately 2–3 weeks

Plantation Shutters – 75% deposit
Estimated lead time will be advised at the time of ordering and may vary depending on the product, manufacturer and specification.

Contract / Commercial Orders – 50% deposit
Estimated lead time: approximately 2–3 weeks, unless otherwise stated.

Awnings, external shading and specialist products
The required deposit and estimated lead time will be stated on the quotation.

The remaining balance is due in full on the day of installation, unless alternative payment terms have been agreed by us in writing.

Payment can be made by bank transfer or another payment method agreed by Wombourne Blinds.

We reserve the right to suspend installation, delivery or further work where payments are overdue and to take appropriate recovery action in respect of unpaid amounts.

4. Cancellation

Because many of our products are manufactured specifically to the customer's measurements, specification, colour and requirements, cancellation rights may be restricted once an order has been confirmed.

Where goods are made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised, statutory cancellation rights applicable to certain distance and off-premises contracts may not apply.

Where a customer asks to cancel an order and no statutory cancellation right applies, Wombourne Blinds will consider whether cancellation is reasonably possible.

Where cancellation is accepted, we may deduct or recover reasonable costs and losses already incurred as a result of the order, including supplier charges, manufacturing costs, administration and other costs reasonably committed to fulfilling the contract.

We will not retain amounts which would result in an unfair or disproportionate cancellation charge.

Nothing in this section affects a customer's statutory rights.

5. Prices

The price shown on an accepted quotation will normally be the price payable for the agreed work.

Additional charges may apply where:

  • the customer changes the product, specification, quantity or installation requirements after ordering;

  • additional work is requested;

  • previously undisclosed or unforeseen site conditions require additional work and the customer agrees to that work; or

  • both parties otherwise agree to a change in price.

Any significant additional work or charge will be discussed with the customer before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.

6. Measurements

Where Wombourne Blinds carries out the survey and measurements, we are responsible for ensuring the products are manufactured to the measurements recorded by us, subject to reasonable manufacturing tolerances.

Where measurements are supplied by the customer or another third party, the customer is responsible for ensuring those measurements are accurate.

Wombourne Blinds cannot be responsible for products that do not fit because measurements supplied by the customer or a third party were incorrect.

Any alterations, remakes or replacement products required because of customer-supplied measurement errors may be chargeable.

7. Product Colours, Samples & Natural Variations

We make every reasonable effort to ensure samples, photographs and displays accurately represent our products.

However, colours displayed on phones, tablets and computer screens may vary from the actual product.

There may also be reasonable variations between samples and finished products due to manufacturing batches, materials and lighting conditions.

Natural products such as wood may contain variations in colour, grain and texture. These characteristics are part of the natural material and are not normally considered defects.

8. Installation

The customer must provide reasonable and safe access to the installation area on the agreed installation date.

Window areas should be reasonably clear of furniture, ornaments and other obstructions before installation wherever possible.

Unless specifically included in the quotation, our installation service does not normally include decorating, plastering, electrical alterations, structural work or making good pre-existing damage.

We will take reasonable care while working in your property.

Where drilling or fixing is required, Wombourne Blinds cannot be responsible for hidden pipes, cables or other concealed services where their location could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.

Any known concealed services should be brought to the installer's attention before work begins.

9. Existing Fixtures & Fittings

Where customers ask us to remove existing blinds, shutters, curtain tracks, poles or other window coverings, we will take reasonable care when doing so.

We cannot guarantee that removal will not reveal existing holes, marks, discolouration, damaged plaster or decoration previously concealed by the existing product.

Making good or redecorating such areas is not included unless specifically stated in the quotation.

10. Installation Dates & Lead Times

All lead times and installation dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Lead times may be affected by supplier availability, manufacturing delays, shipping, customs, weather, access issues or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant delays.

Wombourne Blinds is not responsible for losses caused solely by reasonable delays outside our control, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

11. Customer Access & Missed Appointments

The customer is responsible for ensuring that access to the property is available at the agreed appointment time.

If we are unable to carry out an installation because access is unavailable or because the installation area has not been made reasonably accessible, we may need to arrange another appointment.

Where we incur reasonable additional costs as a direct result of a failed appointment caused by the customer, we reserve the right to charge those reasonable costs.

12. Motorised & Electrical Products

Motorised blinds, shutters and other automated products may depend upon batteries, electrical supplies, wireless networks, remote controls, hubs, apps or third-party smart-home platforms.

Where electrical work is required that falls outside our agreed installation service, this must be completed by a suitably qualified person.

Compatibility with third-party systems such as smart-home platforms may depend upon hardware, software, internet connectivity and services outside the control of Wombourne Blinds.

We cannot guarantee continued compatibility with third-party software or services where those services are subsequently changed, withdrawn or updated by their provider.

Manufacturer warranties and conditions may also apply to motors and electronic components.

13. Child Safety

Wombourne Blinds takes window blind safety seriously.

Products will be supplied and installed in accordance with applicable child-safety requirements and standards relevant to the product at the time of installation.

Safety devices supplied with blinds must not be removed, altered or disabled.

Customers should contact us if a safety device becomes damaged, loose or requires replacement.

14. Inspection After Installation

Customers should inspect the completed installation as soon as reasonably practicable and notify us if they believe there is a problem.

Reporting an issue promptly helps us investigate and resolve matters efficiently.

Failure to immediately identify an issue does not remove any statutory rights the customer may have.

15. Faulty Goods & Your Consumer Rights

Goods supplied by Wombourne Blinds must meet the requirements of applicable consumer law, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose where applicable and as described.

Installation and other services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

If you believe a product or installation is faulty, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate.

Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, remedies may include repair, replacement, repeat performance, a price reduction or refund.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any statutory rights or remedies available to consumers.

16. Workmanship Guarantee

Unless otherwise stated, Wombourne Blinds provides a 12-month workmanship guarantee covering faults resulting directly from our installation work.

This guarantee does not cover:

  • accidental damage;

  • misuse or neglect;

  • damage caused by third parties;

  • unauthorised alterations;

  • normal wear and tear;

  • damage caused by building movement, damp or defective surfaces; or

  • faults unrelated to our installation.

Products may also be covered by separate manufacturer warranties.

Our workmanship guarantee and any manufacturer warranty are in addition to your statutory rights and do not replace them.

17. Repairs & Warranty Visits

Where a problem is reported, we may need to inspect the product before determining the appropriate remedy.

If the problem is covered by our workmanship guarantee, applicable manufacturer warranty or the customer's statutory rights, it will be dealt with accordingly.

Where an inspection establishes that the problem resulted from accidental damage, misuse, unauthorised alterations or another matter not covered by a warranty or statutory remedy, a reasonable call-out, repair or replacement charge may apply. Any applicable charge will be explained before chargeable work is undertaken.

18. Ownership of Goods

Goods remain the property of Wombourne Blinds until payment for those goods has been received in full, to the extent permitted by law.

This provision does not give Wombourne Blinds an automatic right to enter a customer's property or remove installed goods.

Where payment remains outstanding, we reserve the right to pursue appropriate lawful recovery procedures.

19. Liability

Wombourne Blinds will exercise reasonable care and skill when supplying and installing products.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

We will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into or for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.

20. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include significant supplier or manufacturing disruption, transport disruption, severe weather, strikes, import or customs delays, fire, flood, government restrictions or similar events.

Where such circumstances occur, we will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and keep the customer informed.

If circumstances outside our control make it impossible to fulfil an order, we will discuss the available options with the customer and deal with any payments already made in accordance with applicable law.

21. Commercial Customers

Where goods or services are supplied to a business, school, healthcare organisation, landlord, contractor or other commercial customer, additional or alternative terms may be agreed in the quotation, purchase order or contract documentation.

Consumer rights referred to within these Terms & Conditions apply where the customer is acting as a consumer.

22. Complaints

We aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly.

If you are unhappy with a product, installation or service, please contact Wombourne Blinds and provide details of the issue.

Where appropriate, we may arrange an inspection before determining the most suitable resolution.

We ask customers to give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify an issue.

Nothing in this complaints procedure affects your statutory rights.

23. Personal Information

Personal information provided to Wombourne Blinds will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.

Customer information will only be used where reasonably necessary for purposes such as quotations, orders, installation, payment, customer service, warranties and legal or accounting obligations.

24. Photographs

We may occasionally ask customers for permission to photograph completed installations for our portfolio, website or social-media marketing.

Where photographs could identify a customer or their property, appropriate permission will be obtained where required.

Customers may tell us that they do not wish photographs of their installation to be used for marketing purposes.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The Terms & Conditions applicable to an order will normally be those provided or made available when that order was accepted, unless a change is subsequently agreed between us or is required by law.

26. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Consumers retain any rights regarding where legal proceedings may be brought under applicable consumer law.
