🧠 My Journey in the Blinds Industry
With over 25 years of experience, my journey in the blinds and window furnishings industry started from the ground up — learning the trade hands-on and building knowledge through real installations.
In the early days, I worked alongside experienced fitters, learning every stage of the process. From measuring and preparation to installation, this practical experience gave me a solid foundation and a true understanding of how to deliver a quality finish.
As my skills developed, I began taking on installations myself. A key turning point came when I completed my first job independently — with a great result and a happy customer. That moment confirmed I was ready to progress further.
From there, I moved into full-time fitting, working with a wide range of products including roller, vertical, Venetian, curtains, and motorised systems. This hands-on experience is what shapes the quality of my work today.
After many years in the industry, I decided to go self-employed and founded Wombourne Blinds — built on experience, quality workmanship, and honest service.
Since then, I’ve worked across the UK on everything from residential homes to large-scale developments, including projects of over 150 properties. I’ve also worked alongside interior designers, office refurbishment companies, and been involved in high-profile installations, including work alongside the BBC DIY SOS team.
More locally, I’ve completed projects with leading home builders across areas such as Perton and Walsall, as well as countless installations in homes throughout Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.
